Google’s Desktop Search Released
Quick update: I selected search in my task bar and it launched in Firefox. It also looks like it will index Outlook files as well. This is very cool.
I just downloaded Google’s Desktop search tool and my drive is currently being indexed. I’ll give it a test drive a bit later. Battelle mentions that it is IE only, but a comment on his post suggests that it works in Firefox as well. I’ll have to check that out since that is my browser of choice these days.
Interestingly enough I was making a list yesterday of apps on my current machine in order to move/reinstall them on a new machine. The majority of the tools I use daily are now browser-based.
